Pure bloodlines, hand raised, human imprinted
Our mission at Jamul Trails Bunnies is simple; provide hand-raised, human-imprinted, purebred bunnies to customers looking to experience the joy of a bunny companion without the hassle, frustration and expense of dealing with a show breeder.
Our bunnies are all purebred, meeting all breed specs and standards for showing. Bunnies are hand raised with human imprinting to make bonding easy once you get your bunny home. Human imprinted bunnies make the best long term companions. As well we start them on litter box training.

Our store shows Netherland Dwarf kits prior to being weaned. Store displays a current picture, lists parents and provides the weaning date for availability. Due to the nature of the business paying on-line is disabled. Adoption fee is due in full when the kit is picked up. To adopt please text 619.972.5657 to schedule pickup time or schelude a phone call.
We only accept cash when you take possession of your bunny.
We do not hold bunnies nor accept deposits
We are sometimes able to coordinate drop offs in Southern California cities as far north as Ventura County and east as far as El Central. Cost is based on distance and our schedule.
Parents are shown on website and are available to see at our ranch with an appointment
While all our stock is pure-blooded with pedigrees, we do not show rabbits nor participate in that part of the hobby. We concentrate on providing well rounded hand raised bunnies, imprinted by humans to enhance the experience of owning a bunny.

Please reach us at Pat@JamulTrailsBunnies.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
All of our breeding stock have a pedigrees. We hand raise bunnies and allow them to be imprinted to human presence knowing an imprinted bunny will make a successful transition to being a life long quality pet,
Kits are born in nests that contain swatches of tee shirts with human smells, Kits begin the imprint process at 10 days old, as they open their eyes. Daily handling and caressing continue thru week 3. Weeks 4-8 individuals receive individual time with handlers to build confidence in only being with a human with no mother of litter mates. By week 8 when we wean, the foundation of trust and love is imprinted.
Yes they adapt well to using a litter box. Netherland Dwarfs in particular are very clean and selective on where they use the bathroom. We encourage this behavior by having a litter box in the birthing and grow out areas. Your pet will have the basic litter box training and habits when they leave our ranch. It is important you continue the process by having a litter box in your setup right away.
Both genders make great pets. With younger children males bunnies are much more forgiving to being man handled. Females tend to get shy under the same circumstances. Young children under 6 should have adult supervision at least for the first 3 months of taking your bunny home.
Bunnies prefer other bunnies of course. That said if you spend daily time with your bunny and develop a relationship one bunny alone will make a much better pet in regards to them loving you. If you do want additional bunnies know that females generally will get along with each other. Males cannot be housed with other males, or females full time.
No, 8 weeks is too young to neuter. Neutered males make excellent pets in everyway. The expense is $100-$200 and the process is relatively easy and painless. Females the process is much more entailed. Cost is higher and I believe neutered females tend to be a little more moody.
All our Netherland Dwarfs are purebred meeting all breed standards for phenotype and weight.
